Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is located in Exposition Park and is adjacent to the campus of the University of Southern California. The Coliseum has hosted the Olympics twice (in 1932 and 1984) and Super Bowl I in 1967. Seating over 93,000 people, the Coliseum is currently the home of the USC Trojans football team and the Los Angeles Rams NFL team. The Olympic Cauldron is still lit here during the fourth quarter of USC football games. Today, it hosts a variety of live entertainment as well as sporting events.

1720

Its easy to miss this place unless you are really looking for it. Also only those in the know are aware of 1720. Named after its house number, this old warehouse turned concert space is where all the alternative music gigs happen. There is a craft beer and cocktail bar on-site as well. During events, food is served too. If you are a music fan, head to this all ages spot for some live tunes.

The Smell

You know that any club featuring bands called Vomit Bomb and The Pukers on the same night probably isn't a place to take the parents. The Smell is a small, bare-bones warehouse showcasing the best of underground art and music. The club name possibly derives from the musty aroma that hangs in the air as a result of many sweaty people jammed into such limited space, or perhaps it's a reference to the less-than-glamorous location. Leave your delicate sensibilities at home and enjoy fresh talent. Shows are for all ages, so alcohol isn't on the menu but vegan snacks and tea are!
