The George Caleb Bingham Gallery is a contemporary art gallery and is located within the MU campus inside the Fine Arts Building. The gallery has been named after George Caleb Bingham(1811-1879) one of the first, and renowned painters of Missouri. On display are contemporary artworks in a variety of media showcasing the culture of Missouri and overall American Culture. Work of arts by national and internationally renowned contemporary artists, as well as students and faculty. The exhibitions at the gallery give opportunity to undergraduate and graduate students to enhance their educational experience. The gallery is open to visitors only during the college academic year.

Situated in the heart of Columbia, Missouri, the Davis Art Gallery is an integral part of Stephens College. The museum is home to a collection of modern paintings and graphics. Also, on display at the gallery are Melanesian sculptures. The museum is open to visitors during weekdays and closed on weekends and college holidays. Visitors are requested to call before visiting the museum.

Museum of Art & Archeaology

Housed within the Pickard Hall building at the University of Missouri, the Museum of Art and Archaeology is primarily an art museum. With a varied range of artifacts and pieces of art on display, the museum gives its visitors an insight into the local history. The museum was established in 1957 by Professor John Pickard, the first head of the Department of Art History and Archaeology at the University of Missouri. Initiated as a study collection in the department, the museum was moved to its current location in 1976, making it a full-fledged visitor's gallery. Oil copies of paintings, plaster casts of sculptures, photographs and other such collectibles are the essence of this place.
