I've taught music to people of all ages for twenty years, and I've learned through long-term experience how to zero in on goals and problem areas to bring out the best musician in you. I take a song-first approach: instead of starting with mechanics, we use a song as a guide and ask "What techniques do we need to learn to play this accurately?" Every person's singular blend of influences and tendencies then blossoms into a unique style all their own, and I delight in hearing what each and every one of my students has to say with their music.
