My guitar lessons take an individualized approach to progressing on guitar, with streamlined theory and technique applied to learning songs and solos. Guitar instruction in San Francisco is available in acoustic and electric guitar styles, including rock, blues, folk, R&B, and country. Lessons are private, 50 minutes long, and scheduled on a weekly basis. Each lesson is divided between learning to play songs you choose, as well as learning the musicianship necessary to understand and eventually master them. For the first half of each lesson we'll work on a theory-technique assignment to improve your overall confidence and skills. In the second half we'll work on a song you've chosen, to directly apply and reinforce the theories and techniques you've learned, to music you care about. I have been teaching piano for 13 years since receiving my bachelors degree in music back in 2012. Throughout those years, I have gained valuable experience teaching students of all backgrounds and adapting my teaching methods to various learning needs. Genres taught: all 4 periods of classical (includes baroque, romantic and contemporary), movie scores, and pop: (including rock, soul, and indie). Skills taught: sight reading, theory, ear training, technique, dynamics, vocals. The goal is for students to become independent and well-rounded musicians. I both encourage and challenge students, so they feel motivated and inspired to work hard and grow a passion and appreciation for music.
