Museum of International Folk Art

The Museum of International Folk Art features artists who represent traditions from Hispanic and Latino cultures. The museum opened to the public in 1953 and was the brainchild of Florence Dibell Bartlett, who was a folk art collector. The exhaustive collection is unique and is believed to be one of the world's largest collections of folk art. Over 130,000 artifacts form the basis for exhibitions in four distinct wings: Bartlett, Girard, Hispanic Heritage and Neutrogena. The Museum of Spanish Colonial Arts, Museum of International Folk Art, and Museum of Indian Arts & Culture are all on Museum Hill. Additionally, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Palace of the Governors are worth a visit as well.

R.C.Gorman Navajo Gallery

R.C. Gorman was a prolific artist who belonged to the Diné nation, a people more commonly known by their exonym, Navajo. This gallery posthumously pays homage to R.C. and on display, many of his lithographs, giclees, silk-screens and bronze sculptures bring the Southwest to life. If you find yourself in Taos, don't forget to stop into his other shop there, it is allegedly the first Native American owned gallery in the United States.

Winterowd Fine Art Gallery

Winterowd Gallery blends fine and contemporary art as well as large-scale installations here at this gallery on the east end of Canyon Road. Some of the styles include Op-art, Impasto paintings, glasswork, watercolors and much more. Each artist depicts an innovative approach to their media, whether it's traditional oil or more technological paint-by-numbers, the visitor will be impressed.
