Mayborn Museum Complex

Mayborn Museum Complex situated on Baylor University's campus is a must-visit for those looking to spend quality time whilst learning about the local history of Waco and Texas . This history museum has interesting exhibits portraying the rich history of central Texas along with different sections dedicated to National and Cultural History of the United States. Apart from the museum, this massive complex also features a theater and a historic village.

Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum

Situated along the Brazos River, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum opened its doors to the public in 1968 and has been a popular tourist destination ever since. Explore the history of the Texas Rangers - the state's oldest law enforcement company through the various exhibits and relics on display. The Hall of Fame is a memorial to all the Texas Rangers who died in the line of duty. Check out the rotating collection of 2,500 historic firearms and accessories including the one used by famous American outlaws, Bonnie and Clyde. Children will enjoy sitting on the wooden horses, putting together a rifle and other fun-filled activities such as the Scavenger Hunt. The Texas Ranger Research Center was added in 1976 and has a collection of over 300,000 items such as case files, personal data of Texas Rangers and reference books. It is mainly used by researchers. There are special programs for schools to educate the kids about the history and importance of the Texas Rangers.
