Molly's Cupcakes is actually run by a man named Johnny who gave his shop the moniker of his grade-school teacher. According to him, his teacher would bring in the most delicious cupcakes and here at this quaint, little yellow store, Johnny tries to emulate Miss Molly with his version of the popular treat. Molly's is probably best known for its center-filled cupcakes, where guests can indulge upon choices like peanut butter Nutella, creme brulée or decadent cake batter. Additionally, the shop stays open until midnight on weekends, so combined with its location in the hectic West Village makes for a great stop after dinner or drinks.

The Betty Bakery is a joint venture by wedding cake experts Cheryl Kleinman and Ellen Baumwoll. The bakery is a homage to the teacher, Betty Von Nostrand, who familiarized the experts to the craft. Apart from that the name gave a homely feel to the place. Cupcakes, fruit pastries, Cinnamon Challah Twists, to name a few, are favorites and Valrhona Chocolate Cakes, rustic plum pie are to die for. Of course, the signature wedding cakes will still be baked, but you can also look out for rich, creamy, chocolaty puddings, and tapioca. You can also place orders for cakes and pastries to take along on a holiday.
