The Moores Opera House is the centerpiece of Moores School of Music at the University of Houston. Under the department of the Moores Opera Center, the opera house is regarded as one of the finest in the country. It can seat up to 800 at full capacity and is truly a work of breathtaking art. What makes it a national treasure are the awe-inspiring plays and talented productions which regularly grace the Moores Center. Developing and encouraging the growth of artistic theater and opera, the School of Music also rents their Opera house for productions, plays and events.
The River Oaks Theatre offers an eclectic mix of film programming featuring art house films, awards-worthy blockbusters, and classic cinema. In addition, the River Oaks Theatre hosts live events such as comedy shows, musicians, and performers of all shapes and sizes.
