Spanning 8.5 miles, Laguna Creek comprises several tributaries some of which include the Reggiardo Creek and Laguna Creek. This creek commences from Ben Lomond Mountain and leads up to the Pacific Ocean which is situated at a distance of six miles, northwest of Santa Cruz. Laguna Creek has been named so owing to the presence of a lagoon at its mouth. It is interesting to note that the Ohlone tribe once occupied this area, i.e. South of the creek in 5,400 B.C.
