Built by the Mccloskey family to withstand earthquakes in 1908, this century-old castle is built like a fortress complete with towers, turrets, and 24 private rooms. Later, the castle was bought by Sam Mazza, who was an avid curio collector. Today, the castle hosts tours once a month for interested visitors who can take a guided trip to learn about the castle's colorful history, and see Sam's private collection that includes such objects as Tiffany lamps, rare china, antiques, and armor. The castle is the headquarters of the Sam Mazza Foundation that works to preserve this unique heritage landmark.
The Ingleside Terraces Sundial is one of the most unique spots to visit in San Francisco. This sundial was greeted by 1500 people when it was inaugurated on 10th October, 1913. The 28 foot monument is created out of marble and concrete. There are also many events hosted at the Ingleside Terraces park with the sundial taking the center. The attractive architecture sure invites many tourists as well as locals for its magnificent sight.
