Located close to Brooklyn Bridge in Dumbo, Empire Stores is an old warehouse-turned- shopping mall. Spread across an area of 330000 square feet (30658 square meters), Empire Stores features several buildings that are part of this complex. In the year 2019, this property was redeveloped and was transformed to house the Time Out Market New York, which features a food court that has multiple restaurants. It is also home to several stores and Gallery 55, an interesting art gallery.
It is home of the famous jazz saxophonist, Charlie Parker, he stayed at this house for four years. The house was renamed as Charlie Parker Place in his honor and was included in the National Register of Historic Places too.
