The Joralemon Street Tunnel is a historic tunnel located in neighborhood New York City. It opened in 1908 and was the first ever subway tunnel to connect the two neighborhoods of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Today, it carries the 4 and 5 trains of the New York City Subway on the IRT Lexington Avenue Line.
Alternately known as Avenue of the Americas, 6th Avenue is the American equivalent for London's Oxford Street or Paris' Champs Elysee. Controversial in nature, the extension of this avenue in the 1920's sent several Italian immigrants scurrying with nowhere to go however, over the decades it gained tremendous commercial importance. A number of Gothic structures, historic squares, flower markets and art centers dot the nearby surroundings so make sure to come down here while in the Big Apple.
Pier 11 is well located at the end of Wall street and near to the Battery Park. The place creates has a refreshing outlook with the contemporary design floating in the green waters. A highly convenient and often used ferry terminal, it is a very busy spot. A few more developments including bus service or subway and a few eating places will transform this place.
