There are a few things that set the George W. Bush Childhood Home apart from other local and national attractions. Firstly it is said to be the only place in the United States to have been the abode of two governors and two presidents as well as a First Lady. Secondly, it's among the very few repositories that depict the 1950s era. Restored in 2006, the former residence of the Bush family with its period decor showcases their life through artifacts and other exhibits. Though this modest building was built in 1939, it was purchased by George H. W. Bush in 1951 when he moved to Midland for better prospects. The family lived here till 1955. The interiors are remodeled as per during the Bush occupancy. There is a visitor center at the adjoining building.
