Located in the original 1920's courtyard of the La Fonda Hotel, La Plazuela has been a local favorite for many generations. The setting is elegant and welcoming, and the food is delicious. Start your meal off with the Roast Duck Tamal, this corn-husk wrapped delicacy will definitely melt in your mouth, but in spite of the restaurant's name, La Plazuela serves much more than upscale Mexican food. For dinner, some of the classics like Long Island Duck Breast, Pan-seared Halibut and Char-grilled Filet Mignon look more at home on a French menu than in the Southwest. Nevertheless, the food, service and ambience all have that inimitable Silver State's signature style.
Restaurant Martin celebrates nouvelle American cuisine, offering patrons a taste of both international flavors and local favorites. Menu highlights include the Roasted Butternut Squash Soup, Duck Confit Quesadilla, Blue Lump Crab Cakes, Poached Maine Lobster Sous Vide and French Cut Organic Chicken Breast. Exquisite wine pairings and classic desserts complete the dining experience with a finesse. Reservations are recommended.
Are you a salad lover? If so, Vinaigrette is right up your alley, more specifically, on Don Cubrero Alley, less than a mile from Downtown Santa Fe. The salads here are so much more than leafy greens tossed with dressing, creative, cleverly named, and unique, these salads raise the bar by a long-shot. The organic produce is harvested directly from owner Erin Wade's 10-acre (4.04-hectare) farm, or sourced from other local organic farms in the area. In addition to delicious veggies, the dishes may also include meats, dried fruits, nuts and cheeses. This place also serves delicious soups and sandwiches for those who prefer something a little less leafy. The atmosphere is casual, with great service and outdoor patio seating. Well-lit, colorful and modern, the interior decor gives the restaurant a fresh and summery feel.
The Bull Ring, located one block north of the Plaza, was once a well-kept secret of the locals. It has now been discovered by the many visitors to the area and remains one of the best places to eat in town. Steak is the most prominent item on the menu; you can get just about any cut of beef cooked to your liking. Along with steaks, the menu offers baby-back ribs, Chicken Santa Fe and seafood, and the onion rings are a must-order. For dessert, try the chocolate torte smothered in a tequila sauce; it's a great way to round out a meal.

Located right next to the old railroad depot, this restaurant has been a local favorite for many years. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the patio is a great place to dine when the weather is warm. Both the food and the margaritas served at Tomasita's Santa Fe Restaurant have won acclaim. Locals will tell you that if you're searching for a great red or green chile, stop your search here. The Chile Rellenos, green chiles stuffed with cheese, dipped in batter and deep-fried, are fabulous. The restaurant does not accept reservations, but you can always enjoy a Margarita at the bar while you wait.
