Xiao Ye is a neighborhood restaurant in the Hollywood District in Portland, Oregon serving First Generation American Food. We believe in championing the food of our childhood memories as well as the recipes we’ve picked up along the way. Xiao Ye celebrates food from the tables of first-generation American kids.
Toast
We bake our own bread, brioche rolls, biscuits, english muffins, scones, cookies, muffins, pastry shells everyday. We also roll our own pasta and gnocchi for dinner
It is easy to recognize Pine State Biscuits from the street because of the long queue that often forms outside the restaurant. While the wait may be exasperating, the large crowd is a testimony to the popularity of the unusual biscuits and sandwiches at this joint. Try the signature Creamtop Buttermilk Biscuits with rich textures and flavors. Guests can also order biscuits spread with Pimento cheese, locally-sourced honey, marionberry jam or apple butter. Certain dishes like Biscuits and Gravy blend sweet and savory tastes, while sandwiches such as Steak Club and The Wedgie have classic Southern flavors. If you can't bag a seat within the restaurant, takeaway is your best bet.
At the base of the grand Sentinel Hotel, this restaurant is just as much a landmark as the great building itself. The turn-of-the-century decor is elegant and inviting, providing the perfect atmosphere for a tete-a-tete. Although steaks and seafood are the specialty here, this local meeting place is also known for a knock-out Cobb Salad and delicious Happy-Hour menu that is available everyday. Enjoy the end of the day as the after-work crowd unwinds in style. The sunny patio is a good alternative to the indoor dining room.
