Orphan breakfast house is unassumingly situated in the residential neighborhood of East Sacramento, right on the corner of 35th and C Streets across from the old Cannery. The menu combines simple, familiar ingredients with creative Latin flavors and occasional Asian accents. Orphan seamlessly integrates old favorites with healthy, low-fat, low-sodium options making this one of Sacramento's healthiest breakfast spots. Heaping portions of everything from "Naked Cakes" (aka pancakes) to Sweet Corn Breakfast Tamales are priced fairly enough to make this a weekly stop. Orphan is a compelling local eatery with a generous menu, friendly staff and a welcoming family-friendly location. Orphan provides a warm, comforting yet modern atmosphere with additional outdoor seating in a beautiful neighborhood environment (during temperate months).

How do you take a classic staple of American dining, the steakhouse, and break down the traditional thinking to create something entirely new and exciting? That was the question that acclaimed chef and restaurateur Sam Marvin (creator of the much-celebrated Los Angeles restaurant Bottega Louie) posed when he decided the time was right to reinvent what has long been the trademarks of the steakhouse genre – masculine vibe, dark rooms, fancy waiters, slabs of oversized beef and overly expensive pricing. The answer became Echo & Rig Butcher and Steakhouse.
