Taqueria Traspasada

Taqueria Traspasada is a hidden gem of the Ukrainian Village, located on Ashland Avenue. The lean joint is almost-only a lunch counter, with a handful chairs and tables, yet the offerings at this unassuming eatery could very well give any popular Mexican restaurant a run for its money. The menu is focused on tacos, almost exclusively, yet, there's a good selection of burritos on offer, as well. Top picks here include the formidable Al Pastor taco, ground beef tacos, chicken adobo tacos and the Al Pastor burrito, to name a few. The prices are exceedingly pocket-friendly and the dishes doled out are delicious and intense in flavors, definitely worth a visit, this one. Carry cash, they don't accept cards.

El Taco Feliz Taqueria

Small eateries have a completely different charm to them. At places such as El Taco Feliz Taqueria, the owner welcomes you graciously and also attends personally to your orders. This low-key place is a Mexican joint that features freshly made tacos at reasonable prices and generous portions. Come down to this taco shop and enjoy some lovingly prepared tacos over a friendly chat with the owner about your love for Mexican cuisine. A takeaway option is also available at the eatery.
