Top Franklin roofers

The best roofing company in Franklin for YOU

When you're shopping for a roofing company, it's important to approach your roofer with questions in mind . Most standout roofers will prioritize cleanup, with systems in place to catch and remove fallen nails, like magnet sweepers . However, it's important to ask about this, especially if you have kids or pets. Sometimes, roofers can accommodate homes with children with extra layers of protection, so if it's a concern for you, it's worth inquiring.

While many of the best roofers will have the expertise needed to install a number of different roofing types, homeowners with specific desires, including niche roofing types such as cedar shakes or tile, should be sure to ask whether their roofer is able to provide these services.

Storm Guard Roofing is the top overall roofer serving Franklin today. The company has exceptional reviews and offers bright, friendly customer service. If you're looking for a new set of shingles in Franklin, you can't do much better.

Roof MD is the alternative top roofing company in Franklin. With excellent transferable warranties and a 24-hour call center from Monday through Saturday, it's a great choice for roof replacements and repairs.

Best roofing companies in Franklin, Tenn.

Storm Guard Roofing is the best overallFranklin roofing company

Franklin is by no means the only city with a Storm Guard Roofing franchise, but the Franklin chapter does stand out for its impeccable reviews and service. The Franklin edition is a fixture of the community, with the owner a member of the local BBB chapter. When we called in, we were impressed with the friendly and knowledgeable customer service.

Storm Guard Roofing offers a suite of roofing services, from classic shingles and rubber roofing to metal roofs. These will reflect a variety of price points; we were told that metal roofs are unsurprisingly much more expensive . The company primarily uses Owens Corning shingles and is an Owens Corning Platinum Certified installer . This enables Storm Guard to provide competitive warranties of up to 25 years, backed up by its in-house five-year workmanship warranty, though available warranties will vary depending on the products you choose.

When you book Storm Guard Roofing, the company provides a free inspection, after which it will furnish a quote. It does not provide ballpark figures over the phone or based on satellite data. When you're ready to sign, it requires a 30% down payment to secure your dates. When we asked whether we need to obtain a permit, we were told that the Franklin area does not require permits for standard roofing work.

The company offers financing options. Should you look to pay with a card, it does pass on a 3% card processing fee, which is fairly standard. It also accepts standard payment methods of check and cash.

Services offered

• Residential roofing

• Commercial roofing

• Shingles

• Metal roofs

• Roof repairs

• Emergency tarping

Since Franklin has relatively mild winters, the company does work throughout the cold months. It completes most jobs in a day or two, though larger properties can take longer, and seasonal sunlight variations can affect this. While it keeps an eye on the weather, sudden storms can affect scheduling, causing the team to postpone until the next dry day.

While the team isn't formally background-checked, the representative we spoke to gushed about how the team has worked with the company for "so many years." This is reflected in the company's glowing reviews online, as is its commitment to quality. Protection is also a focus of Storm Guard's. It works to ensure that the job site is left without detritus, and the project manager will personally supervise cleanup, using a magnetic sweeper to clear the yard of any fallen nails.

Storm Guard Roofing is accredited by the BBB with an A+ rating. It has one complaint on file, although it is closed. The company has a five-star rating on Google (764 reviews), a five-star rating on Yelp (8 reviews) and a 4.9-star rating on Angi (43 reviews).

The Franklin chapter is located at 256 Seaboard Lane, Suite F-103, Franklin, Tenn., 37067. It is open 24 hours, seven days a week. For a quote, call 615-909-5059 or visit the website .

Roof MD is our top alternative Franklin roofer

Roof MD is a Nashville-based roofing company that serves the Franklin area and beyond, including Georgia and other states. The family-owned company got its start in California in 1987 and has since moved to Tennessee.

The company uses a call service for booking estimates, and it took us a few attempts to get an actual estimator on the phone. However, for most situations, this wouldn't be a drawback, as most homeowners will want to start things off with a free estimate.

Roof MD is an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor. This enables the company to provide exemplary warranties, up to a limited lifetime manufacturer's warranty and a 25-year workmanship warranty. These Owens Corning warranties are transferable, at least in part. They are broken down on the company's website . We asked if the company pulls its own permits for roof work, and were told that if permits are required, it would pull permits itself.

Roof MD does not do ballpark quotes over the phone and waits to furnish price details until it can inspect a property in person. While we were told that some of the company's payment details would be shared during an inspection, we were informed that the company usually takes a one-third down payment before putting a job on the books. The company's payment portal charges a 3% fee for card payments. It also accepts ACH payments, home loans and cash. Its financing policies are explained on its website .

Services offered

• Roof replacements

• Roof repairs

• Siding

• Gutters

• Permanent holiday lights

The company attends to jobs quickly, and we were told that once a project is on the books, the job can often begin the following week. However, though the company watches the weather when scheduling, surprises do occur. The company doesn't work in temperatures below 45°F. Sudden storms or frigid temperatures can cause the team to push back to the next dry day.

Roof MD is focused on cleanup. It uses tarps and other protection tools to keep a clean site, then it uses magnet sweepers to apply the finishing touches. While the team doesn't run formal background checks on its subcontractors, it does have long-standing, trusting relationships with them. The representative we talked to said he's worked with his team of roofers for five years, so he vouches for their skill and dependability without hesitation.

Roof MD is accredited by the BBB with an A+ rating and zero complaints. The company has a 4.9-star rating on Google (143 reviews), a five-star score on Yelp (six reviews) and a five-star rating on Angi (12 reviews).

The company is located at 5016 Centennial Blvd., Suite 200, Nashville, Tenn., 37209. It is open 24 hours a day, from Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sundays. For an estimate, call 866-601-2408 or visit the website .

Best Choice Roofing is the best national roofing company serving Franklin

At Yahoo Local, we work to give readers clear, trustworthy information that helps them make confident decisions. Although we usually focus on local businesses, there are times when choosing a national roofing company may be the more practical option. If you are comparing both paths, take a look at our guide outlining the differences between local and national roofers . For readers who prefer a larger provider, our top recommendation in the area is Best Choice Roofing .

Based in Tennessee, Best Choice Roofing operates multiple offices throughout the Southeast, and its service area extends across the country. The company has 90 locations in 30 states, covering regions from Los Angeles to New York. As a full-service roofing contractor, Best Choice offers roofing, gutter and skylight services throughout the Southeast and nationwide. Founded in 2009, this Tennessee contractor is the nation's largest Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor. The Hendersonville location holds a 4.8-star average rating on Google from about 550 reviews. Its one-star Yelp rating is based on only two reviews and does not reflect the company's overall service quality.

Most Best Choice Roofing offices focus on asphalt shingle systems, though some locations can handle specialty requests such as metal roofing. Customers receive a standard five-year labor warranty with the option to upgrade to a lifetime extended warranty. As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, Best Choice also offers a 50-year materials warranty on Owens Corning products.

As with most national roofing companies, Best Choice does not provide pricing estimates over the phone. Instead, customers can schedule a free on-site inspection. During this visit, a Best Choice "solutionist" will review pricing, payment terms, deposits and other details. Representatives note that costs vary depending on the project and the location, so an in-person estimate is the only reliable way to receive accurate information. Free inspections are typically available within 24 hours of your initial call.

Services offered

• Roof repair, replacement and installation

• Free roof inspections

• Roof cleaning

• Gutter services

• Skylight installation and repair

Best Choice Roofing provides several financing options, which most customers choose to use. If you prefer to pay by card, check or another method, a representative can walk you through available options during your appointment.

Best Choice Roofing is accredited by the BBB with an A+ rating and has received about 80 complaints over the past three years. While the company's project managers and inspectors are employed in-house, its installation crews are subcontractors, which is standard practice among national roofing companies. The company conducts background checks on in-house employees before hiring, though these results do not automatically disqualify candidates.

For more information, call 629-217-2771 or request a free inspection through the company's website. Although Best Choice operates in 30 states, Franklin is actually serviced by its headquarters, located at 35 Executive Park Dr., Suite C, Hendersonville, Tenn., 37075. The Tennessee office is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET and closed on weekends. Hours vary by location.

Tennessee roofing FAQs

How much does the average roof replacement cost in Tennessee?

Roofing costs in Tennessee vary substantially. Best Choice Roofing , our top national roofer servicing Franklin, writes that in Nashville, homeowners can expect to pay from $3,100 to $18,600 for a shingle roof replacement. This is a wider spectrum than the average cost we expect in 2025 . Bill Ragan Roofing says that shingle roof replacements in Franklin, Tennessee, will usually cost from $20,000 to $25,000.

Generally, roofing in larger cities like Nashville will cost a premium. However, in Tennessee, certain smaller towns like Franklin might prove more expensive for roof replacements than urban areas.

How do I know if my roof needs repairs or a full replacement?

If you're not trained in roofing, it's usually best to have a professional evaluate the condition of your roof. Even so, staying alert to early warning signs can make a big difference, and homeowners can often identify the first indicators of trouble on their own. Missing shingles or leaks are clear signs that you should schedule an inspection right away.

It's also wise to plan inspections around major weather events. Preparing your roof before hurricanes or heavy snowfall can help limit damage, and checking it again afterward can reveal issues you might have missed. Serious storms can put a lot of stress on a roof, and in some situations, your homeowner's insurance may be more likely to cover the cost of an inspection — or even a full replacement — if you can show that a storm caused the damage.

Are there roofing regulations or permits required in Tennessee?

Roofing companies in Tennessee must be licensed through the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance through the Board for Licensing Contractors . The type of license required will vary depending on the value of the projects that a company takes on, and in some counties, projects under the $25,000 benchmark won't require a license.

For an in-depth look into Tennessee roofer licensing, read our full guide on the subject .

How long does a roof typically last in Tennessee?

According to Bill Ragan Roofing , most shingle roofs in Franklin last around 20-25 years. Lower-end shingles might max out at 20 years, while premium architectural shingles could last up to 25 years. This is slightly short of our expectations for average national roof lifespans .

Beyond shingles, metal roofing, tile and premium materials like slate can last much longer, from 50 years to over a century. Whatever roof system you choose, Tennessee's hot summers require premium ventilation for roofing to last; otherwise, humidity can cause mold and other issues that will damage the roof prematurely.

What is the best time of year to replace a roof in Tennessee?

Tennessee has four distinct seasons, and while the weather tends to stay warm all year round, winters can still bring cold temperatures and occasional snow. Many types of shingles require special handling for installation in freezing conditions, and some contractors avoid working when temperatures drop below freezing. Although winter roof replacements can certainly be done, especially during the temperate winters of central Tennessee, it's not the most popular time to schedule them.

Spring, summer and fall are generally the best seasons for roof replacement in Tennessee. Spring and fall offer mild weather and steady conditions , while summer can be extremely hot and muggy. Even with the heat and the chance of a sudden thunderstorm, summer is still a reliable time for most roofing projects.
