The Dallas Cowboys have just released veteran offensive tackle La'el Collins as a part of final roster cuts — and the Pittsburgh Steelers would be wise to make a move.
Following the news of Collins' release, many suspected that Dallas could re-sign him to their practice squad, given his long history with QB Dak Prescott and the Cowboys organization — but Pittsburgh could use his veteran presence as a backup offensive tackle behind Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu .
At 32 years old, Collins brings 89 games of experience to wherever he lands next, and while his starting days are likely behind him, he's arguably the best backup offensive tackle in the NFL.
At worst for Pittsburgh, the Collins experiment fails — but the 10-year veteran is able to help guide the young offensive line, which seems like a low-risk, high-reward situation that a potential 2025 Super Bowl roster needs to make.
