The No. 2 available player in the spring transfer portal has found his transfer destination. Former Army edge rusher/linebacker Elo Modozie has announced he's transferring to the Georgia Bulldogs .
Modozie, a four-star recruit from the class of 2023, played with the Army Black Knights for two seasons. In those two seasons, he increased his sacks totals from one in 2023 to 6.5 in 2024.
He has been a special teams ace, blocking a punt for a touchdown in Army's 17-14 over Holy Cross in 2023. Modozie also blocked a field goal against Rice in 2024. Georgia and head coach Kirby Smart love players that are willing to contribute on special teams.
Georgia lost a large amount of their pass rush production this offseason. In fact, 32 of the 37 sacks the Bulldogs generated in 2024 left via the draft or the transfer portal. In the linebacker core, Georgia is losing Jalon Walker , Chaz Chambliss , and Smael Mondon Jr . to the 2025 NFL draft . Additionally, edge rusher Damon Wilson II transferred to Missouri in the winter. Modozie should be a key player for Georgia's 2025 defense, which desperately needs pass rush help.
Modozie joins Illinois running back Josh McCray and Miami defensive lineman Joshua Horton as spring transfer portal additions for the Bulldogs.
