Team USA Is Getting Crushed At Ryder Cup On Saturday

It hasn't been the best of showings for Team USA at this year's Ryder Cup.

Tensions were pretty high between Europe and America on Saturday , especially with some of the heckling aimed at Rory McIlroy and his fellow international players. The 2025 Masters champ was interrupted by fans throughout his round this weekend and was even caught telling them to "Shut the f—k up!" at one point.

"I don't mind them having a go at us. Like, that's to be expected. I mean, that's what an away Ryder Cup is," McIlroy told reporters after his morning session. "Whenever they are still doing it while you are over the ball and trying to hit your shot, that's the tough thing."

Unfortunately for the fans in question, it didn't really work, as Europe put together one of the most dominant Ryder Cup performances in recent memory — and now the tides appear to have turned on social media.

Fans destroying Team USA on X

The Europeans have the largest lead ever — on the road nonetheless — finishing Day 2 with a score of 11 1/2 to America's 4 1/2 going into the event's final round.

It didn't take long for users to voice their displeasure with how poorly the U.S. has played. Even if some analysts are of the mind that the Americans are playing fine, and that Europe is just on another level right now:

"Can’t believe I let the internet get me excited about the 'Ryder Cup,'" Barstool's Jack Mac said . "This USA team stinks out loud. Boring too."

"#TeamUSA has no chance at a come back! This is one of the worst showings I have ever seen. Absolute embarrassment!" a user exclaimed.

"This US team deserves to lose by 10+ points," another person commented. "What an absolute joke."

"What an embarrassing showing by Team USA," a fan shared. "No pride whatsoever."

Chamblee calls Saturday 'finest' performance he's ever seen

Golf Channel's Brandel Chamblee couldn't believe the golf Team Europe was able to put together over the past couple of days — likening it to Tiger Woods' dominance at his peak.

"The absolute finest performance I've ever seen from a team. This European Team’s performance is equivalent to what Tiger Woods did at the 2000 U.S. Open... what we saw yesterday & today is unprecedented," Chamblee explained . "What we saw an absolute inspired team of Europe."

It's going to take more than a miracle for Team USA to have any chance of mounting a comeback. But it starts with tomorrow's 12:02 PM tee time where the Ryder Cup shifts to regular match play.
