49ers hit 2 huge offensive needs, key defensive need in 3-round mock

It's hard to pin down the exact order of the San Francisco 49ers list of needs going into the 2026 NFL draft.

There are three clear needs that stand out, however, and they checked all three in a three-round mock draft put together by the Pro Football and Sports Network.

With no trades in the projections, San Francisco sits with the 27th, 58th and 92nd picks. Their first pick is becoming a familiar name for the 49ers in mock drafts. The others fill out some sizable needs in the trenches.

Let's run through each pick:

Round 1, Pick 27: WR KC Concepcion, Texas A&M

Concepcion makes a ton of sense for a 49ers club that may undergo a complete overhaul of its WR room this offseason. Brandon Aiyuk is on his way out, Jauan Jennings is an unrestricted free agent and Ricky Pearsall hasn't been able to stay healthy in two seasons. Concepcion was productive in all three of his college seasons, including his first two at North Carolina State. He was also a versatile weapon who brings the yards-after-catch element the 49ers have missed the last couple of seasons. It's unlikely the 49ers will ever find a direct replacement for WR Deebo Samuel , but Concepcion has a little bit of that versatility to his game that would make him a nice fit in San Francisco.

What PFSN said:

KC Concepcion is a dynamic receiver with tremendous YAC ability and impressive quickness, excelling as a route runner who shoots out of his breaks.

Throughout his stints at Texas A&M and NC State, he’s been a reliable underneath weapon with inside-outside versatility. His twitchiness underneath and speed-oriented game would be a near-perfect addition to San Francisco's offense.

Round 2, Pick 58: OT Caleb Tiernan, Northwestern

The 49ers have to start considering life after Trent Williams , who turns 38 in July. Tiernan has outstanding size with the Northwestern athletics site listing him at 6-7, 325 pounds. Over the last three years he started all 38 of Northwestern's games at left tackle. Prior to that he saw five starts at right tackle in 11 appearances as a redshirt freshman. A player with that much experience could conceivably start at right tackle if the 49ers think he's an upgrade over Colton McKivitz . He could also work as a depth piece up front before stepping in at LT once Williams hangs up his pads.

What PFSN said:

Caleb Tiernan is a massive blocker, standing at 6’7″ and weighing 329 pounds, with gap-zone run-blocking versatility. He has the size, strength, hand usage, and spatial awareness to become a good starter in the NFL.

Round 3, Pick 92: DE Anthony Lucas, USC

It wouldn't be a surprise at all if the 49ers use a pick or two on their defensive line on the first two days of the draft. Lucas didn't put up big-time production in college with just 3.0 sacks and 8.0 tackles for loss across 39 games in his career. However, he is listed on USC's athletics site at 6-5, 285 pounds. He somehow looks bigger than that on tape. If the 49ers are looking for upside on Day 2, Lucas projects a similar type of player to 2025 first-round pick Mykel Williams . Lucas isn't the same caliber of prospects, but he has a ton of physical tools to become a high-upside project for defensive line coach Kris Kocurek.

What PFSN said:

The 49ers saw firsthand that their edge-rusher depth wasn't up to par as their defense declined in the second half of 2025. The 6'5", 275-pound Anthony Lucas is a lengthy, powerful defender with accurate hand placement and good speed-to-power rushing the passer.
