The Denver Broncos brought back a running back on their practice squad following a Christmas Day win over the Kansas City Chiefs .
After being waived on Thursday , running back Cody Schrader cleared waivers on Friday and re-signed to the team's practice squad on Saturday. Schrader (5-9, 214 pounds) initially signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri in 2024, then he spent a year and a half with the Los Angeles Rams .
Schrader had stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans in 2025 before landing with the Broncos earlier this month. The 26-year-old running back has one three-yard carry and a six-yard catch in two career games.
Denver now has two running backs on the practice squad as Schrader joins Deuce Vaughn .
