Browns NFL free agency: Grading the signing of blocking TE Jack Stoll
After Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry spent the beginning part of free agency rebuilding the offensive line , he turned his attention to the tight end room on Wednesday. With David Njoku posting a farewell on social media, the room was looking pretty empty outside of standout rookie Harold Fannin Jr.
The Browns signed veteran tight end Jack Stoll , who spent the 2025 season with the New Orleans Saints . Stoll isn't coming to be a weapon in the passing game; he has less than 250 yards in his five seasons, but he does bring something to the room that was much needed: he's a good blocker.
What Stoll brings to the Browns
With Njoku departing and Fannin not being a great blocker, the Browns absolutely needed to add someone who can hold their own as a blocker and hold the TE3 role for the team. The Browns will still need to add another player to the room, but they have filled the blocking tight end role; that's all this signing is, a blocker without a ton of pass-catching upside.
