While the Minnesota Vikings have made a habit of staying injured this season , they have become the get-right spot for their opponents. Lamar Jackson missed time only to return against Minnesota , and he wasn't the first player to see that timeline this year.
Set to face the Washington Commanders on Sunday , it appears Jackson won't be the last either. Marcus Mariota had started under center with Jayden Daniels injured. That changes this weekend.
Jayden Daniels cleared to face MN Vikings
Multiple weeks ago Jayden Daniels suffered what looked like a gruesome arm injury . It wound up being a dislocated elbow, but wouldn't require surgery. Out since November 2 , Daniels will be back under center against Minnesota .

The Commanders are just 3-9 this season, but two of those wins came while Daniels was active. Across six games he has thrown for 1,184 yards , eight touchdowns, and just two interceptions.
It will be interesting to see how altered, if at all, Daniels running game is. He averaged 52.4 yards per game last year, and was at a 43.7 yards per game clip this season. He certainly can't play scared, but avoiding further injury should at least be part of the plan the rest of the way.
Last season Daniels led the Commanders to a 12-5 record while winning Rookie of the Year honors. He was the 2nd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, taken one spot behind Caleb Williams. It will be the first time that Daniels faces fellow 2024 1st round pick J.J. McCarthy .
McCarthy returns for Minnesota after missing last week's game with a concussion . The Vikings would be better positioned for next season with a loss , and Daniels return makes the Commanders more formidable. What they do need to see though, is McCarthy show positive signs of development the rest of the way.
Kickoff is set for 12pm at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday . The return of Daniels has swung the line in favor of Washington with the Minnesota Vikings now being 1.5 point underdogs.
