- Dolphins 4 biggest holes to fill after first wave of free agency
The Miami Dolphins have been one of the most active teams through the first week of the new league year, as they've signed some of their own players, brought in others from other teams and even executed a pair of trades.
While Miami has filled a few holes this offseason, there are plenty more that they should try to address before the start of the regular season.

Here are four positions where the Dolphins could really use an upgrade.
Wide Receiver
It's really hard to replace Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle , and it's not a knock on them, but it's too much to ask of Tutu Atwell and Jalen Tolbert . It may be wise for the Dolphins to use one of their two first-round picks on the position in the 2026 NFL draft.
Cornerback
With Jack Jones and Rasul Douglas still unsigned, the Dolphins have brought in several cornerbacks over the last week, including Darrell Baker, Marco Wilson and Alex Austin. However, a first-round pick in this year's draft could really help in 2026 and beyond.

Guard
Miami cut James Daniels and lost Cole Strange to the Los Angeles Chargers , leaving them with Jonah Savaiinaea and the recently-signed Jamaree Salyer as their projected starters. That might be enough to get them through a rebuilding year, but they could benefit from adding another capable lineman.
Safety
After trading Minkah Fitzpatrick , Miami's safety group is one of their thinnest. Dante Trader and Lonnie Johnson are expected to start with Zayne Anderson , Jordan Colbert and Omar Brown serving as depth. Tight ends will win matches against that room all day, so the Dolphins need to bring in more talent.
