The start of the 2025 season was a rough one for TreVeyon Henderson . But the rookie running back stepped up when the Patriots needed him the most, and has carved out a nice role for himself .
Henderson had 14 carries for 148 yards and two touchdowns in New England’s 35-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday .
His second score put him at four rushing touchdowns of at least 50 yards for the season — the most by any player in Patriots franchise history. No other player in the NFL has more than two, as pointed out by ESPN’s Field Yates .
“I’m super happy for him,” Rhamondre Stevenson said . “He comes in to work every day, eager to learn. Very respectful person. His faith is high. He’s just a great guy, great teammate. I’m super proud of him. Hopefully, he can keep it going.”
The growth Henderson has shown is undeniable, and the rookie is becoming more comfortable in his role week in and week out.
“I think the biggest thing is over time being able to get more opportunities and go up against the best of the best each and every week,” Henderson said . “It’s been helping a lot, just growth. We have a great running backs coach (Tony Dews) as well who disciplines us really well, and he’s been helping me grow as well. I just want to leave it all on the field.”
