FOXBOROUGH — At 11-2, the Patriots have a chance to clinch the AFC East with a win over the 9-4 Bills on Sunday afternoon.
Mike Vrabel's team has won 10 straight games, including a 23-20 road win at Buffalo in October.
They're still underdogs at Gillette Stadium this weekend.
Oddsmakers have favored the Bills by 1.5 points in the rematch. Patriots wideout Stefon Diggs said he didn't know the Patriots were underdogs when asked about it at his locker on Wednesday, but then had a one-word assessment.
"Good," Diggs said.
After back-to-back 4-13 seasons, the Patriots were written off by plenty of pundits and preseason oddsmakers. In a remarkable turnaround, they eclipsed the August over/under of 8.5 wins in November.
Diggs believes they're not just playing with a chip on their shoulder, but something even greater. It's been a season-long mentality.
"Edge. A real edge," Diggs said. "That's why I said it was good. This team is full of (players) that were castoffs and people who were cut or people who didn't necessarily get the opportunity that they wanted. However you dice it up. I feel like that's good for us.
"Being an underdog, people like us have been an underdog our whole life. We're going to have something to prove regardless of it. I think the main thing is it gets exciting when you're an underdog, when you've got a lot to prove, when you're playing with that edge and you're playing aggressive because nobody believes in us but us."
Though Diggs has grown into one of the NFL's most decorated wide receivers, he was once a fifth-round draft pick out of Maryland.
