It's been another solid campaign for Byron Buxton , as he's appeared in 75 of the Minnesota Twins ' games this year. While the 12-year veteran has had substantially better luck with injuries in recent years, it appears that luck may have run out right before the All-Star Break.
Reports indicate that the Twins placed the 32-year-old outfielder on the 10-day IL due to a right hip injury , according to Bobby Nightengale Jr. of The Minnesota Star Tribune. The timing of the injury prevents Buxton from participating in the All-Star Game entirely.
"The Twins have placed Byron Buxton on the 10-day injured list after he aggravated his right hip injury Sunday," reported Nightengale Jr. "Buxton will miss at least the six games before the All-Star break, and this will take him out of the All-Star Game where he was voted a starter."

Buxton suffered the injury during the Twins' 6-1 win over the New York Yankees on Sunday, July 5. He was forced to leave the contest in the first inning after reaggravating his lingering hip injury while attempting to steal second base. The injury prevents Buxton from participating in his third career All-Star Game.
The IL is a place Byron Buxton is all too familiar with. Injuries have limited his playing time in MLB, as he's only ever surpassed 100 games played in a single season on three occasions since he entered the league in 2015. Two of which came in 2024 and 2025.
Fans can expect Buxton to return at some point after the All-Star Break. He goes to the IL with a .271 batting average and .328 OBP while totaling 83 hits, 25 home runs, and 45 RBIs so far this season.
