Both Giancarlo Stanton and Jasson Dominguez are on the 10-day IL as they each work their way back from their own separate injuries. With the New York Yankees playing highly competitive baseball early in the season, manager Aaron Boone provided an update for each player.
Stanton, who is 36 years old, is said to be doing a little more work than he previously was, according to Gary Phillips of NYDN Sports. Meanwhile, Dominguez is at least working on swinging the bat in the pool and working out in the weight room. Neither player is near a return yet.
"Some very minor Yankees injury updates, per Aaron Boone : Giancarlo Stanton is 'doing some more dynamic stuff,' but he's still not ready to ramp up running," reported Phillips. " Jasson Dominguez is doing well post-PRP shot. He has been swinging in the pool and working out in the weight room."
Giancarlo Stanton is working his way back from a strained hamstring injury he suffered while running the bases in the Yankees' 12-4 win over the Houston Astros on April 24. The 17-year veteran owns a .256 batting average and .302 OBP this season while totaling 23 hits, three home runs, and 14 RBIs.
As for Dominguez , the 23-year-old outfielder is dealing with a sprain in his left AC joint and is also in the middle of concussion protocol after slamming into the wall hard during the Yankees' 9-2 win over the Texas Rangers on May 7. His fourth season in MLB has been a bit underwhelming, as Dominguez has recorded just six hits, one home run, and four RBIs, giving him a .200 batting average and .250 OBP.
