Deshaun Watson has been named Cleveland's starting quarterback for week one at Jacksonville.
Caroline, I've been saying it for a couple of weeks, I think the Browns put everything in place to make this happen.
I think they made it clear that whatever they've seen behind the scenes made this the clear decision.
I even think the tone in some of the ways that the coach spoke about Deshaun Watson yesterday echoed this, and now today we get the announcement, it is official, Deshaun Watson, much to the chagrin of the Cleveland Browns fan base, will start week one at Jacksonville.
I don't get it.
Like, I would love for somebody to explain this decision to me, because I don't understand it in the slightest.
From a PR perspective, the fans hate him.
The fans boo him into oblivion, and he just made it worse with a dreadful, atomic press conference, calling out the fan base, showing, you know, zero regard for other people, showing that Deshaun Watson just simply does not get it.
He just doesn't have a grip on reality.
So there's that side of it, and then there's the football side of it, and that is Deshaun Watson is terrible.
Deshaun Watson doesn't look like a starting quarterback in the NFL against a bunch of backups in a preseason game.
Deshaun Watson's quarterback rating was 14 over the weekend in a preseason game.

Just for reference there, I went back and looked at some of the quarterback ratings for players last year.
The lowest it goes is the 53rd ranked quarterback rating last year, and that was Brandon Allen, who had a quarterback rating of 28.

I didn't even know he was still in the league, to be honest with you.
So I don't understand this decision from a football perspective.
