Rams owner Stan Kroenke to buy Angels in MLB-record deal

I am from St. Louis, and he stole my football team from me.
So do not get it twisted, I will not mince any words about it.
I despise this man.
But I can also call it like it is.
And I can look at the fact that Stan Kroenke's football team won a Super Bowl a couple of years ago.
I can look at Stan Kroenke's hockey team, and that they won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2021 and 2022 in the Colorado Avalanche.
His basketball team, the Denver Nuggets, won a championship a handful of years ago as well.
He also owns Arsenal, who just won a Premier League title this past season.
So I'm looking at four teams that he owns that have won five championships in the last less than half of a decade.
So I can hate him with every single fiber of my being, and I do, but I can also acknowledge that his teams have had a wild amount of success.
I can also acknowledge that as long as the team is in Denver or LA, not in St. Louis, he will invest into it.
And you need an owner that's willing to spend and invest in order to be competitive.
That is not what Arte Moreno, the former owner of the Los Angeles Angels, has been able to do or willing to do.
I mean, Mike Trout even spoke with the media yesterday, and he said, "No hard feelings to Arte, but I'm super excited.
The guys are excited.
There's a good vibe around the clubhouse.
There's a good vibe around the stadium."
Mike Trout is literally telling you Arte Moreno was a deadbeat, and everyone's excited for the n- this next kind of generation, of Angels ownership.
So I, I think that Stan Kroenke can do what feels like the impossible and make the Angels not even just relevant, but competitive.
He'll put the money in.
We know that.
And you mentioned his- Yeah portfolio.
I think it's important to point out that Stan Kroenke collects sports teams the way many people collect sports trading cards.
There is no through thread.
This isn't about a city, it's about brands he trusts that he can turn into winners.
He owns the Rams.
He owns the Nuggets.
He owns the Avalanche.
He owns the Colorado Rapids in MLS.
He owns the Colorado Mammoth in NLL.
He owns Arsenal, Arsenal women's team.
Those are all teams, like, all over the world, all over the country, that are all now part of his portfolio, and you add to that the Los Angeles Angels.
This isn't about a city, this is about him using professional sports teams like trading cards.
He collects them, he puts his assets into them to make them more valuable, and he turns them into winners.
It is, to your point, whatever we think of Stan Kroenke the individual for the way that he's treated some of the cities he's abandoned, there is no doubt that at the end of the day, what he's done in modern sports is he's built empire after empire after empire-
