Shay Peper Cornette, a close friend of mine, and, full transparency, has been named as the, uh, successor of Molly on First Take.
Now, several people got the opportunity to sit in the chair, and we've been wondering for one of those popular shows in all the media, who would eventually take that seat.
The rumor mill has said that Shay would be that person for a minute, and we've been wondering if they would make the move.
Now we know that the move is final, and it couldn't happen to a better person, a more deserving person, and somebody that has an incredibly difficult job.
Ahead because, let's be honest, at the end of the day, when you sit in that seat, part of your job is to make sure that the bills get paid and everything stays on time.
Another big part of your job when you sit in the host seat of First Take is just finding a way to manage the circus.
Anytime you have the personalities that they have on First Take, let's remember, as I said for years when I worked at ESPN, the show is not called First Fair and Reasonable Conversation.
It's called First Take.
So you're always going to get the biggest loudest, massive take from everybody, including Stephen A. Smith.
So now Shay has the incredible job to sit in that seat, but the unenviable position of trying to control the chaos that is around her.
I know that there are several people that could have sat in that seat and done a job, a great job, but nobody could have done it better than Shay will do it.
I am 100% sure because at the end of the day, she's an incredible talent and an incredible person.
So congratulations to Shay for this huge opportunity.
Can't wait to see what the next chapter of First Take looks like for her.
