On Thursday night at the NFL Honors, held at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, ahead of Super Bowl Sixty at Levi Stadium, Christian McCaffrey won the award for AP Comeback Player of the Year.
It was a fitting capstone of the one, one of the most impressive seasons by a running back and one of the most impressive seasons of McCaffrey's career.
McCaffrey was the engine of the Forty-Niners offense in the twenty twenty-five season.
He started all seventeen games, led the NFL with a career-high four hundred and thirteen touches, finishing the season with over two hundred-- two thousand scrimmage yards.
On the ground, he rushed for over a thousand yards and ten touchdowns, while of course continuing to be a focal point in the passing game as well.
By season's end, McCaffrey once again looked like one of the most complete offensive weapons in all of football.
The award represents a full-circle moment for him.
