So, the first thing I wanna talk about, obviously, let's go into the preseason game that happened last night, and we were joking before we went live, that was like, that fourth quarter was like, I almost wanted to be like, "Running clock.
Let's, let's get a running clock going."
but I think we did see some important things yesterday from that game, and especially in the first quarter.
That first drive, we got Well, like we finally got to see C.J.
Stroud in some in-game action.
We finally got to see some of the, you know, starters for this Texans offense.
You know, sucks we didn't get to see Jaden Higgins out there, obviously.
Um- But, you know, some good, some good takeaways from that first drive.
I want to hear from you obviously, being there in the stadium.
One, what was the atmosphere like during that first drive with C.J.
In the game?
And then what, what were some things that kinda stood out to you from that first offensive drive from the Texans?
I mean, it was about as good as you could ask.
I mean, it's worth noting, too, obviously, this was against, like the Raiders didn't play their starters, so you're going against their backups, and you already practiced against them two days prior in a joint practice against their starters, and dominated those guys offensively.
So, if you did well against those guys offensively, you're definitely gonna do good against their backups.
So, it was kinda like a, a lose-lose proposition if you look at it through that lens.
So, like in those situations, I'm like, "Man, this is..." It's obviously like, you know, if you execute how you're supposed to, great, but like the risk is almost worse than the actual reward.
But it all went well.
I mean, we saw some good blocking.
So, obviously Trent Brown, Ed Ingram had some good blocks on that drive.
Keeland Rutledge showed that he's relentless and plays to the echo of the whistle, always finding work.
I love that about him.
You know, maybe he didn't always make a perfect block, but the effort was there.
C.J.
Stroud was crisp, dialed in.
The decision-making has been a big thing yet we all can agree on, and DeMeco's harped on, which is, you know, more so like discipline, knowing when to dirt plays.
He had a play where no one was open, he dirtied it.
You know, he had another one where he hit the quick check down, it went for nothing.
But, Jared Wayne got some reps in there.
Obvious- obviously he's someone that I think that can Y- if, if the Texans, which, which we'll talk about, if they don't find a way to replace, Jaden Higgins outside, I think that Jared Wayne is a good in-house option.
