Adejah Hodge Happy But Not Satisfied With 3rd Place Finish in the PRE Classic 100m
Adejah Hodge shares how meaningful it was to finish third among professionals at the Prefontaine Classic, but she isn't satisfied.

Here with Adaja Hodge after that incredible performance, placing third in the 100.
Yes.
Man, just walk us through that a little bit, and you really had to dive to even just get that third place there.
Man, I really wanted second.
It was so close.
I really wanted first, 'cause I was even closer.
But I think I executed very well today.
I worked on my starting, I worked on my start, just putting all the puzzle pieces back together.
Somebody told me earlier this week, "Do it scared, do it without every piece, just know that God will take you through."
So that's just been my motto for the whole weekend, just going with the flow, having fun, enjoying my moment.
I'm just, getting this experience running my first Diamond League.
Yeah.
Oh.
So I'm just excited.
I'm just happy to be here, man.
I know you've had international experience before, but this one just felt different, you know, with all these, the stacked field- Okay.
And then after you just running 10.6.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like, how did you kind of just approach this?
Were there nerves going into this?
Mm-hmm.
Like, was it confidence?
How were you approaching it?
a little bit of nerves, but definitely mostly confidence.
I knew I just came- needed to come out here, perform.
It's been three weeks since I ran, 100, so just coming out here, doing the best that I could, and just taking it one round at a time.
Watching Dijonnan win yesterday, did that kind of motivate you?
What was the feelings- Oh, yeah, we was, we was out there talking.
We was like, "Yeah, G out front, G out front.
We gonna go out there and we gonna win," da, da, da.
But most importantly, we focused on executing.
it's been a rough two weeks for both of us.
I got a heel cut and all that.
Mm-hmm.
But we just been focusing on doing it, even though it's not perfect, doesn't feel perfect, but still coming out here and executing, 'cause that's the professional mentality.
Lastly, what does it just mean to be able to compete on, to compete with these ladies and to finish in this top three?
Oh, it feels great, man.
being the youngest in the field, one of the youngest in the field, and also just placing high, placing third at the Diamond League, my first Diamond League, it just shows that all the experience that I've gained over the years is really working, and it also keeps me hungry, 'cause third place is great for my age, but third place just wasn't enough for me, and I'm just grateful to be out here and leave healthy.
So we're gonna go back in the lab and fix some stuff.
