Interim Mets manager Andy Green says that Tyrone Taylor 's power surge is simply a matter of confidence and the intention of doing damage at the plate. Taylor attributed it to putting the work in with the coaching staff. He added that learning from his teammates has also been an important aspect of his improvement. Starter Freddy Peralta was encouraged by his outing despite the high pitch count that resulted in him being lifted after four innings. Peralta knows he has not performed the way he or the Mets expected to and understands he has been prominently mentioned in trade rumors with the deadline fast approaching.
