Arman Tsarukyan Considers Move to Featherweight to Chase UFC Title
Arman Tsarukyan said he is prepared to drop to featherweight to pursue a UFC title after repeated delays at lightweight. The top lightweight contender watched Justin Gaethje claim the interim title over Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324 in Las Vegas last weekend. With Gaethje expected to face champion Ilia Topuria next, Tsarukyan told The Ariel Helwani Show he may target UFC featherweight instead. He said coach Sam Calavitta believes a 145-pound cut is possible within two to three weeks, though difficult, given his 175–177-pound walk-around weight. Tsarukyan (23-3) also has recent disciplinary scrutiny. Separately, Alexander Volkanovski is slated to defend against Diego Lopes at UFC 325 on Saturday in Sydney.
