Baker Mayfield Hurts Thumb in Loss as Buccaneers Fall to 1-3

Baker Mayfield injured his right thumb late in Tampa Bay's 23-16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, though X-rays showed no fracture. An MRI was scheduled for Monday. Mayfield finished 17 of 34 for 217 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The Buccaneers have now lost three straight to fall to 1-3, raising concerns just weeks after signing Mayfield to a three-year, $165 million extension that keeps him under contract through 2029.
