Baker Mayfield's Dislocated Thumb Could Sideline Him Up to Six Weeks for Winless Bucs
Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield could miss up to six weeks with a dislocated thumb, according to ESPN. Coach Todd Bowles had first said he would be out three weeks. A Monday MRI showed no additional damage, surgery is not expected, and his return depends on whether he can grip the football. He has not been placed on injured reserve. Mayfield had completed 63.5% of his passes for 615 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions through three starts for the winless Buccaneers. Undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels makes his first NFL start Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
