This year's free agency wasn't as chaotic compared to previous years, but there were a couple moves that you might have missed that could change everything.
One of them was the Spurs signing Tobias Harris to a two-year 30 million contract.
On paper, paying a 34-year-old who's never been an all-star more than $15 million a season sounds like an overpay, but when you look deeper, the deal is actually a fleece.
This off-season, the Spurs needed another wing who they could slot in as either an undersized stretch four or small forward.
Last season, the Spurs relied on Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, or Harrison Barnes to fill that role.
Each of those options aren't bad, but all three of them aren't that consistent in that role either.
In this year's playoffs, Harris was undoubtedly the Pistons' second-best player next to Cade, and as he enters his 16th year in the league, you know the only thing on his mind is to work his tail off to win his first title.
Another signing that low-key could move the needle was the Pacers signing Kelly Oubre Jr. To a two-year contract worth $16.5 million.
Now that the Pacers enter next season with a healthy roster, expect them to go on another deep playoff run.
Despite all the ball-dominant players the Sixers had last season, Oubre still managed to average over 14 points and asserted himself as the team's primary defensive stopper.
With the Pacers a bit short on wings after trading Benedict Mathurin to the Clippers for Ivica Zubac, they found the perfect replacement in Oubre.
Next, we have the Celtics signing Mitchell Robinson to a three-year 47 million contract.
The figure is a lot if you consider that Robinson is a worse free throw shooter than Shaq and always gets injured.
But when he's healthy and teams aren't intentionally fouling him, Robinson is the best offensive rebounder in the NBA, and a very dependable rim protector, as evidenced by his career average of 1.7 blocks a game.
While the Celtics will most likely roll with Neemias Queta as their starting big man, it's still a way better center rotation than what they had last year, when all they had was Luka Garza and a declining Nikola Vuevi as Queta's backup.
Stars are what usually make a team into a contender, but championships are won by finding the right role players that bring exactly what a team is missing.
