Boston Red Sox Farm System Sees Jump in Recent Rankings
After entering the season with a depleted prospect pool, the Red Sox are seeing their stock rebound.

Wanted to take a minute to talk about Baseball America's mid-season farm system rankings, where the Red Sox saw a pretty significant jump back into the top 10 systems in the sport.
Of course, the Red Sox entered the 2025 season with the, one of the best systems in baseball, featuring three top 15 prospects in Roman Anthony, Marcelo Meyer, and Christian Campbell.
But thanks to the graduation of those three, along with pitchers Peyton Tully and Connelly Early, the Sox system saw a pretty significant depletion of talent, causing them to fall down to number 15 entering the 2026 season.
Well, like I said, Baseball America just updated their farm system rankings at the mid-season point, and the Red Sox have jumped back into the top 10, checking in at number nine.
Unsurprisingly, BA says that the biggest strength of the Red Sox system is pitching, which is of course headlined by a pair of 2025 draftees, Anthony Eyinson, who's number 33 in BA's top 100, and Kyson Witherspoon, who checks in at number 94.
Behind those two, there's still plenty of pitching depth, including a pair of intriguing teenagers in Juan Valera and Sadiel Delzin, who according to Soxprospects.com, are the ninth and tenth best prospects in the organization.
Unsurprisingly, the biggest weakness in the Red Sox organization is their lack of pure hitters.
The hitting prospect pool was of course depleted after the graduations of Meyer, Anthony, and Campbell, and it's led by Franklin Arias, who's really exploded onto the scene in 2026, jumping from a mid-forties-ranked prospect to the number three prospect in the sport.
But behind Arias, things get a little bit questionable for the Red Sox.
After checking in at number 98 in BA's top 100 in June, power-hitting outfielder Justin Gonzalez found himself on the outside looking in for July's update after struggling in the month.
There are, however, some intriguing names gaining traction in the Red Sox system like center fielder Endy Azocar and catcher Franklin Primera, but both of them are still pretty substantially far away from the Major League level.
Red Sox will have a chance on improving upon their farm system rankings starting on Saturday with the first round of the MLB draft getting underway to kick off All-Star Week in Philadelphia.
Red Sox have just over $8 million in pool space and hold the 20th overall pick in Saturday night's first round.
So it'll definitely take some creativity from Craig Breslow if he's looking to replenish this Red Sox farm system and boost their rankings even further.
