Where the White Sox Farm System Ranks Among MLB Teams
The White Sox have seen their farm system take a hit as top prospects have graduated to the big leagues, but a strong 2026 MLB Draft has helped replenish the organization with another wave of promising young talent.

So every team, their full organization assessing the prospects that they have and making a list of who has the best talent coming up.
Now, as always, a rankings list is arbitrary, but this can be a good indication of where your team is at in terms of that next wave of talent.
It is the teams that replenish their talent that seem to have consistent success, and it's no surprise the Los Angeles Dodgers, number one.
The Tampa Bay Rays, the Milwaukee Brewers, those are number two and three.
It also is no surprise that the White Sox and their farm system rankings have taken a hit in recent years.
They were the number six farm system in baseball prior to 2025, according to MLB Pipeline.
Before this year, they came in at number 16, and that's because so many of those top White Sox prospects came to the big league level and lost their prospect status.
Kyle Teal, Colson Montgomery, Chase Mydrow, Grant Taylor, all of those guys were within the top eight.
Sean Burke was number 13.
He lost prospect status.
And in 2026, it's been more of the same.
Noah Schultz, Hagan Smith, Braden Montgomery, Sam Antonacci, even Jacob Gonzalez have joined and contributed to the White Sox.
But the White Sox have also found a way to replenish.
Through the draft, most notably, and some internal development, the White Sox have now the number 15 ranked farm system in baseball, one spot higher than they were at before the season.
That's a really encouraging sign, and it's not too bad for a first-place team, a team with a really young core of, their previous top prospects, to still have an above average farm system in the sport.
And a lot of it is thanks to that draft class.
Rock Chalowski, Landon Tomey, Cole Prosek.
The eight prospects in the top 30 for the White Sox come from that 2026 draft class.
Even a guy like Joey Volchko, who provides some much needed pitching according to MLB Pipeline to the system.
Overall, though, a great time to be a White Sox fan because the team is good and the prospects are providing hope for the future.
Chalowski and Caleb Bonner could be guys who we see debut in the big leagues at some point in 2027.
And for an organization that's looking for that sustained success, that gives us reason to believe that this White Sox young core is only going to be further supplemented and further helped by the talent within the organization already, and that leads to a very bright future.
