Brady Bacon Reacts After USAC Sprints Knoxville Corn Belt Nationals Win
Brady Bacon got his sixth USAC National Sprint Car win at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday in the Corn Belt Nationals. His reaction post-race.

That last restart, were you prepared for how quickly you had to be defensive against three, four, five different cars trying to take the lead from you?
Yeah, I was really not sure what to do there.
I knew, like, you know, in traffic you just kinda kinda go or they're not.
And the bottom was, for me, was faster in one and two, but I hadn't really ran it against lap cars to see what it was like over here.
And, yeah, I saw him poking his nose on the outside of me there, and so I just knew I had to pick up the pace over here and then get back to the top and run my line where I needed to be.
I was just scared to be too tight up there on that restart with my air being low, but at the bottom I wasn't any good down there.
So luckily I was able to not lose the lead there and then, you know, pick up the pace on the bottom in, in one and two, and then get back up to the top in three and four.
You talked last night about how you were able to maneuver around cars in the field to get yourself up as the Rod & Supply Haier Charger from 11th to 3rd.
Tonight, a little bit different of a scenario as you found yourself starting a little bit toward the front of the field, but passing really equally as many cars to get to the front spot.
How was it different tonight compared to last night?
yeah, I mean, the track was better for us.
I know, like, the wing guys don't like it maybe that good on the bottom, but we kinda have to have something like that to be able to maneuver around and even kinda run the middle a little bit.
So, there's a lot more options tonight, and, it was just gave me more opportunities to pass cars.
And then obviously starting on the inside on that original start was pretty helpful.
We got to fourth right away, and then I honestly thought Jake was pretty much gone.
But fortunately the lap traffic kinda held him up enough we were able to catch him and capitalize on that and get by him, and then hold on on that restart.
So I don't know if you know this, but Jake S- Jake Swanson had a five-second lead that you closed under green flag competition, which is insane.
But Brigg Xander giving you a run for your money on those final laps, how difficult was it to choose the top or the bottom on that last lap?
I knew I probably needed to be on the bottom, 'cause you get such a good run down the back straightaway if you do it right.
And I was being a little conservative on the first couple laps after the restart, and I knew I just needed to pick up the pace and not miss it for sure.
And, sometimes the little faster you go, the better, the better your car works, so.
But you, you run a little risk of missing it, and if I would've missed it, he would've blown right by me.
So thankfully that didn't happen and we were able to hold on.
And, you know, it was hopefully it was a good race for everybody, and just glad to get another win for the Chris Dyson 20 Concord American Flag Poles.
We, you know, have a car capable of winning every time we show up to the racetrack, and glad to do that tonight.
