Diamondbacks' Brandon Pfaadt worked five scoreless innings against the Padres, his second consecutive impressive start since returning from Reno.

Video Transcript

What were you most pleased with?

Oh, honestly, I think, the offense came out firing for the second straight time, and I think that really set the tone for the whole game and, helped us settle in and, and attack hitters with, with the big lead.

So I think that was the, the main momentum shifter and, kinda key to the game was getting ahead early and, kinda helped us.

And the two guys that came out of the bullpen did a great job, kind of attacked the zone with some freedom.

How do you stay on the attack so well?

It looks like you're doing that.

You're being aggressive in the zone.

I think that's something we got away from.

Obviously some, some big lead, leads help, helped that, and I think we got away from it earlier in the season, but kinda just getting back onto that and making that a priority is, is the key, and, and we, we see that it's working, so we'll keep doing it.

How pleased were you with the changeup tonight?

Very pleased.

Was pleased with a little bit of everything.

I think it, everything was working.

Gabby called a great game back there and kept us in the zone and then out of the zone when we needed to in, in some big situations.

So, pleased with not only the changeup but a lot of other pitches as well.

What was the, would you say, the biggest adjustment you made at Reno?

Is it more mental or, or physical?

I think more, more mental, more kinda like I said, just pounding the zone.

That's what, makes me good, I feel like.

And, being the aggressor, I've said that multiple times.

And I feel like getting back on that track and, and pitching one ahead of guys is, is my best baseball, and I feel like we've done that.

When you feel good about your stuff, does that help you when it comes to being aggressive and attacking?

Yeah, I think pounding the zone early, getting a feel for all the pitches, I think that, that helps, helps everything.

when you're in the zone early, you can, you can get more of a feel for your pitches.

I know earlier in the year we didn't really have feel and we weren't pounding the zone as much, so I think there's a direct correlation to that, and I think just getting back to that is, is huge.
