Braves' big wins vs. Dodgers sets up Atlanta for playoff push

Lindsay Crosby puts the Braves' Dodgers sweep in perspective, noting Atlanta went 5-1 on the season against an LA roster full of former MVPs and Cy Young winners. The Braves sit one game back of the Dodgers for the second seed and hold the tiebreaker, meaning they just need to match LA's record.

And I think at the same time now, you can look at this Dodgers series.

You swept the Dodgers.

You went 5-1 against the two-time defending World Series champions that have a roster full of former MVPs and MVP-caliber talents and Cy Young-caliber talents and former Cy Young winners.

And Blake Snell and Tarik Skubal together have four Cy Youngs.

And Atlanta beat them five games to one.

And at the end of the day, I think this series is a big deal.

It's going to be difficult for Atlanta to beat or to catch the Dodgers for the number two seed in the National League.

The Braves are 79-55.

They're one game behind L.A.

They hold the tiebreaker.

They don't have to have a better record than L.A.

They just have to have the same record.
