Briscoe: Rules package made Daytona 'a lot of fun'

Chase Briscoe explains how the new rules package that encourages passing and dissuades drivers from saving fuel made the Cup Series regular season finale at Daytona "a lot of fun".

Video Transcript

Chase, we watched you early in this race get up front, mix it up quite a bit, but it looked like you were having a good time out there with this new rules package.

Yeah, it was a lot of fun.

You know, especially that first stage when nobody had a clue what was going on and, you know, there was really no fuel saving that first stage.

It was fun.

Our Bass Pro Shops Tracker Toyota ran really good.

Like, I could make moves and kind of do whatever I wanted.

And even there at the end of stage two was able to get pretty dicey, and then, and we were just in a really bad spot from the fuel standpoint.

Just how the stages lined out, it made it, you know, difficult.

If you're gonna run hard for stage points, just kind of puts you behind from the fuel standpoint.

So yeah, I wish our, our finish would've been a little bit better, but, yeah, I had a lot of fun.

I, had no idea what to expect going into it and, and that was a lot of fun, so enjoyed it and looking forward to the next 10 weeks now.
