Trying to find a little bit of shade on a day where, the heat index was over a hundred degrees as the Browns had their last practice of the week.

They're gonna have a, a kind of a light lift and a walk-through, tomorrow before, the three-day Labor Day weekend.

The players are all getting off, although Todd Monken said that, he will be in the office, through the weekend, kinda getting ready for, next week, which is week one of the regular season against Jacksonville, which is part of the reason why Todd was, was not disappointed to get the, the, the hot weather here as they, they got on practice for the last couple of days because to get 'em ready for Jacksonville and Tampa, the first two road games of the-- the first two games of the season, both in, gonna be in the Florida heat.

So might as well get ready for it now.

Otherwise, a relatively uneventful, news day.

Monken-- Tevin Jenkins was back on the practice field, so he was back at right guard.

Although keep an eye on this because, they have really been, pleased with what they've seen out of Austin Barber, and the rookie just might, still find his way into the starting lineup between now and, Sep-- now and, well, two Sundays from now when they, they, they kick off the season against the Jags.

Other health news, Isaiah Bond remains out.

It's, you know, this is-- Maybe the long weekend helps as he, he works through the concussion he, clearly sustained during the, the, the Patriots', preseason finale.

Otherwise, back on the field was, Tyson Campbell was also out, but, he was watching.

So, I would expect him, to be back when they, when they get back here on, on Monday, would get back to work and get started for, for Jackson-- really get started for Jacksonville.

Jared Verse, Mychal Junior, again, Tevin Jenkins were both back on the field as well.

So otherwise, you know, again, moving, moving quickly or as quickly as it seems like they can toward, toward the season opener.

It's been a long training camp, and I, I'm sure the players and coaches and everybody looking forward to a little bit of a break, although the coach is not gonna get that much of one, working on the game plan.

But a little bit of a break, four days off for us as well.

We'll be back out here on Monday, Labor Day when the-- as, the Browns, get into week one of the regular season.

For the Beacon Journal, I'm Chris Eastman.
