Browns Put Deshaun Watson in Concussion Protocol, Shedeur Sanders Next Up
The Cleveland Browns have placed quarterback Deshaun Watson in concussion protocol. His symptoms began Monday night after he took a helmet-to-helmet hit in Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Watson briefly left that game and came back after being cleared. He also passed evaluations after the game and on Monday morning, then told the medical staff about his symptoms Tuesday morning. Cleveland will prepare as if he won't play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, and Shedeur Sanders is likely first in line. Sanders completed two passes for 2 yards against Pittsburgh and now gets a full week to prepare. Last season he started the final seven games and went 3-4 without real practice reps.
