Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane Heaps Praise on WR DJ Moore

Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane was asked this week about wide receiver DJ Moore, and he gave about as glowing of a response as you could see from a GM talking about a player.
I'm here to break it down for you, give you the full quote, and let you know why it's so important for the Bills' upcoming season.
So the exact question Brandon Beane was asked was, "How much of what you've seen from DJ already compares to what you were envisioning when you made that trade earlier this spring?"
Beane first says, "Yeah, I mean, I think it's-- You know, you spend a lot of time watching his film over there, and a lot of times, you know, let's just say Joe Fan, what Joe Fan's going to do is watch the catches.
Let's see.
But you spend a lot of times watching every play, what he's doing without the ball, what does he do on run plays?
Like, this guy is a full football player."
Beane goes on to say, "Like, he's throwing it in their blocking.
Not that you want that to be his number one attribute, but he's running a deep ball, and you can see his speed to clear out for one of their other guys.
Like, he's going to do whatever it takes.
He's one of those guys that, unless I'm totally missing something, if we won the game and he has no catches, he's going to be fired up.
And if he has ten catches for 200 and we lose the game, he's going to be pissed."
And then Beane says, "And that's the first and foremost thing that I love about him.
The guy is all ball, all team."
Look, that is about as glowing of a response, like I said, as you can have about a player.
He said it.
They are not bringing in DJ Moore to be a guy that just runs off or gets his nose dirty in the run game.
They are bringing him in to be the Bills' number one rider- wide receiver in twenty twenty-six and be Josh Allen's go-to weapon on the perimeter.
But the fact that he has all these other traits, that he is fully a team-first guy and can give you that production on the field, makes it already seem like without them even playing a game, this was a win on the Buffalo Bills' part in making this move to acquire DJ Moore.
I mean, think about the young guys the Bills have in that room, too, in Keon Coleman and Skyler Bell.
They could certainly use that veteran leadership right in front of them, not only helping them out with things on the field in terms of how to run routes, how to use the playbook to their advantage, but also that mentality of being team first and willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win.
That could go a long way for those two guys, especially Keon Coleman.
Beane goes on to say, "You know, he obviously got nicked up in that first preseason game against Carolina, and, you know, the medical team was like, 'Hey, this may take a little bit,' and he said, 'No, I'm going, I'm going.'
We didn't even really want him going in the Cleveland joint practice, and he's like, 'No, I'm going.
I want to be out there with my guys.'"
DJ Moore is not a guy that has to prove himself.
We all know what DJ Moore can do, what he can bring.
He's not some rookie coming in the league.
He's not a guy with a roster spot on the line.
He is the dude coming in to be the Bills' number one wide receiver.
He doesn't have to be doing this, but yet he's setting the standard day in and day out for this team that, "If I'm healthy, if I can go, I'm gonna go out there and do whatever it takes to be with my team, even in the preseason and joint practice."
Beane said lastly, "So that's probably the skill set.
It's exactly what I thought I saw in Chicago, the movement skills, the speed, the different route running, the variety of routes he can run, the hands, the run after catch, all that stuff that I talked about when we traded.
That's the part that I did not know is this dude wants to be on the field at practice walkthrough.
He does not want to talk about an injury or be in the training room."
